RBC Tech Community Team is proud to present FutureMakers Talks: Future-Proofing Your Tech Career.  
Please join us for an evening of networking, refreshments, and thought-provoking discussions on emerging technologies and how they will impact your career. 
This edition of FutureMakers Talks will cover the tools and knowledge to prepare for the future of work in emerging technologies such as machine learning, AI, and cybersecurity. 
The evening will feature the following talks: 
--> Key Note by Sage Franch, Co-Founder and CTO of Crescendo - Inclusive Workplaces
Talk: "Singularity-Proof Yourself" Will your job exist in the future? How will your skills fit into the landscape of artificial intelligence and quantum computing? This talk will explore the path from today to the singularity and how you can continue to be an active participant in the tech workforce of tomorrow. We will look at some of the top emerging careers in technology and the skills that will be demanded in tomorrow's job market. Learn how blockchain, AI, mixed reality, and quantum computing will transform the tech sector, and how you can prepare to be a part of building this future.

Sage Franch
Sage Franch is a seasoned technology educator, developer, and creator of tech lifestyle blog TrendyTechie.ca. She specializes in emerging technologies including blockchain, mixed reality, and cognitive computing, and is passionate about leveraging new tech to build a better future. In her previous roles at Microsoft, Sage focused on global developer education and AI as a tool for positive change. Now as Co-Founder and CTO of Crescendo - Inclusive Workplaces, Sage builds technology to help make workplaces more diverse and inclusive.

Inmar Givoni
Inmar is an autonomy engineering manager at Uber ATG Toronto. She is building self-driving vehicles using cutting-edge deep-learning models. Inmar holds a PhD in Computer Science, specializing in Machine Learning from the University of Toronto. Her previous roles include VP of Big Data at Kobo, and Director of ML and SWE at Kindred. Before that she worked as a research scientist and member of technical staff in companies such as Microsoft Research and Altera (now Intel). She was recently recognized as one of the 2018 inaugural cohort of 50 inspiring Canadian women in STEM.
Leithland Thomas
Leithland Thomas is a technology evangelist who believes in challenging the traditional notions of what is possible with technology. Throughout his career in the wealth management and banking space, he has worn many hats from Equity/Derivative Trader at Bank of Montreal to SVP of Enterprise Architecture at Citigroup. His background has informed his unique views on how to develop scalable, secure world-class IT solutions that deliver business value and exceptional client experiences. Combining his two passions - technology, and business, he decided to form Ledgly Inc. with a team of deep domain experts, with a focus on developing products and market strategies based on Blockchain and AI.
Arthur Berrill
Arthur has almost 40 years of experience in the architecture, design and development of enterprise spatial systems including WILDMAP (a GIS before the term existed), SYSTEM 9, SpatialWare®, MapInfo products and Location Hub®. He holds numerous key patents in the location intelligence and spatial systems domain. 
Fascinated by the use of new technology to solve business challenges, Arthur is working on new or improved algorithms and methods borrowed from other disciplines (such as genetics, deep learning), reinvented for modern architectures or imposed on the spatial disciplines by the evolution of technology. Arthur was Inventor of the Year for 2008 at Pitney Bowes (MapInfo) and won the TechAmerica 50th Anniversary Innovation Award in 2009. 
Erin Faulkner
Erin Faulkner is the Senior Manager of the Monitoring & Triage group in the Security Operations Centre at RBC. She manages a team of technical analysts who act as the first responders to security incidents in/against the bank. Erin has extensive experience working with technologies that keep the network running 24/7 across the globe. She also has worked on a number of high profile security incidents during her career.  Erin is a Certified Ethical Hacker and holds current ITIL and CISSP certifications.

The talks are designed to bring tech enthusiasts, practitioners and experts in the tech community under one roof to share knowledge and discuss major tech advances. The series will feature stimulating discussions on machine learning, digital payments, digital design, cybersecurity and more.
