Doors: 7pm Program: 7:30pmThousands of people experience some form of homelessness in Edmonton, AB. During the pandemic, that problem was placed in a pressure cooker as the pandemic forced thousands of those people out of shelters and into a socially distanced, community run camp in the river valley. Gathering Storm is the story of a small community organization called Jasper Place Wellness Centre, and their journey to change the face of affordable housing in a moment when it’s never mattered more. It’s about a group of people trying to maintain the humanity of our city's most vulnerable populations during the most turbulent time in recent history. It’s about compassion in the face of chaos.In addition to a film screening, this event will include a brief Q&amp;A with participants in this project.This project was supported by Telus Storyhive and Sticks &amp; Stones.TELUS STORYHIVE supports compelling, original stories told by creators from British Columbia and Alberta through production funding, training and distribution to new audiences. Sticks &amp; Stones is an Edmonton-based full-service marketing and creative agency developing work for clients across the country.
