GDPP Presents: Decolonizing Education 

The Equity, Diversity and Public Policy Initiative (EDPP) is a graduate student-led organization at the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. We aim to explore the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the design, implementation, and evaluation of public policy. We promote the adoption of an intersectional lens in policy analysis and encourage discussions of identity-based inequalities in the realm of public policy. We work in collaboration with Munk student initiatives, faculty and administration and other networks within the University of Toronto landscape.

The Equity, Diversity, and Public Policy Initiative (EDPP)

The University of Toronto is located in a city declared to be the most diverse region in Canada. Yet, as the third largest university in the country, many students feel that the university still has a way to go to make its campus and curriculum more inclusive to students of all backgrounds, especially Black and Indigenous students & faculty. Why?
In the spirit of Black History Month, GDPP is hosting its second roundtable discussion on the issue of inclusion in academia--where we are now, where we need to go, and what policymakers can do to help.

- Huda Hassan, activist and PhD student at the Women & Gender Studies Institute, University of Toronto
- Jenny Blackbird, Language Events Coordinator, the Centre for Indigenous Studies, University of Toronto
Join us on Monday, February 12th, 2018 from 11AM-1PM in CG160 as we explore the successes and gaps in provincial education policy and what everyone can do to make universities feel more like home.
