Discover amazing careers in the skilled trades and technologies with Skills Ontario! Through our #SkillsWinterfest2020 Live Workshop Series, we’re hosting free online sessions for all members of the family to enjoy. Join us for an evening of fun and education, spent developing skills and exploring potential career paths!In this workshop, participants will be guided through a gingerbread and royal icing recipe. Related Skills: Pastry ChefRequired Materials <ul><li>Device with internet access</li><li>Oven</li><li>Large mixing bowls</li><li>Mixing spoon</li><li>Whisk and/or electric mixer</li><li>Rolling pin</li><li>Measuring utensils </li><li>3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour</li><li>1 tablespoon ground cinnamon</li><li>1 tablespoon ground ginger</li><li>3/4 teaspoon baking soda</li><li>3/4 teaspoon ground cloves</li><li>1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg</li><li>1/2 teaspoon salt</li><li>3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature</li><li>1/2 cup packed brown sugar</li><li>1 large egg</li><li>1/2 cup molasses </li><li>1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract</li><li>3 large eggs (only using the egg whites)</li></ul>Optional Materials: <ul><li>Parchment paper</li><li>Gingerbread decorations</li><li>Cookie cutters</li></ul>*Participants should come to the workshop prepared with all items listed above. A note that if possible, purchasing these items from a bulk store/bulk section of a grocery store may be most cost effective option as such small quantities of each items are needed. **Skills Ontario will mail out a kit with all other necessary materials. A reminder to check all food item packaging for any ingredients that may cause an allergy, and never consume food items we send if the original packaging is opened or appears to tampered with in any way. Sessions are led by Skills Ontario staff and partners on Microsoft Teams. There is no registration fee for these events. Registration closes December 6th, 2020, at 10:00 P.M. (EST).
