Welcome to the Great Backyard Bird Count!Come join us at Birds Canada for a fun-filled day of birdwatching and counting. This in-person event is perfect for bird enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. Grab your binoculars and get ready to spot and identify as many bird species as you can with our experienced guides.Participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count is not only a great way to connect with nature but also contributes to important citizen science research. Your observations help scientists track bird populations and migration patterns. Plus, it's a fantastic way to spend time outdoors with family and friends.So mark your calendars and get ready to count some birds at the Great Backyard Bird Count! Agenda

An introduction to birding and citizen science. We will learn how to use binoculars and what to look/listen for when identifying birds.

Introduction

The group will be split into age groups and we will walk around the Birds Canada property to look for birds.

Birding

Lunch will be generously provided by Long Point Region Biosphere. Enjoy some food while we run a raffle for different prizes. We will also have microscopes available to have a close up look at any treasures found while birding (leaves, feathers, seeds, etc).
