GREEN CAREER WORKSHOP

Sustainability Consultant Network is a Greater Toronto Area-based environmental not-for-profit organization. We currently have over 1,000 members on our email list, Meetup, and Facebook and are continuing to grow. Around once a month we hold talks, facilitate discussions, and organize tours that focus on environmental sustainability to professionals interested in learning and making a difference. We have invited local and international guest speakers from businesses, governments, non-profits, and academia, to speak at our events. Elena Jusenlijska is a sustainability enthusiast both professionally and personally. An entrepreneur and a former headhunter, her past experience includes recruiting green professionals and connecting stakeholders in the green community. Currently the Corporate Engagement Manager at ACCES Employment, a leader in connecting employers with qualified employees from diverse backgrounds.

Indra is working towards energy conservation and resource recovery in the water and wastewater sectors in Ontario through positive collaboration with Municipalities, Local Distribution Companies (LDCs), IESO and other stakeholders, and achieve energy and greenhouse gas reduction goals. His passion is fostering innovative technologies that would assist in data-based decision making.
Indra and his young family arrived in Toronto in 2010 from Nepal. Being aware of the licensing process, Indra knew he would need to spend some time to get into his professional field of electrical engineering and land his dream job as a manager.  To give back to the community, Indra became a Mentor at TRIEC Mentoring Partnership to help new immigrants start and build their career.

She took over the Toronto Renewable Energy Network in 2015 and has been dedicated to creating events that pull like-minded renewable enthusiasts together! At Panasonic EcoSolutions, she is part of the team to bring residential solar and energy storage to the Canadian market!  10 years ago she came from China to Canada – a place now she calls home.
<IMG ALT="" SRC="https://i2.wp.com/www.sustainabilityconsultantnetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Akhil.jpg?resize=150%2C150&ssl=1"> Akhil Sivanandan is the co-founder of Green Story, an analytics and marketing startup for companies with eco-friendly products or services. The company is part of the MaRS Discovery District and Ryerson University’s Social Venture Zone.  Prior to his work with Green Story, he worked on M&A deals worth over $200 million in the Ontario electricity sector and drafted options for the Ontario Cap and Trade and Offsets programs.
Akhil has also worked in market research and consulting in the sustainability and renewable energy sector for companies such as Philips Lighting and Vestas, and has been cited and interviewed in multiple publications including the New York Times.
Akhil holds an M.B.A from Rotman School of Management, and a B. Tech, Computer Science and Engineering, from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India.

Ana holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Psychology from the University of Toronto. Throughout her career, she has experience working with renewable energy firms, higher education institutions, and municipalities in different sustainability aspects. In her previous role as the Project and Business Development Manager of Ontario Solar Provider Inc., she managed the communications with North American utility companies, Power Purchasers, PV developers, EPC clients and property owners.
She has great expertise in business development, research, and economic development.
 
<IMG ALT="" SRC="https://i2.wp.com/www.sustainabilityconsultantnetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Sahra.jpg?resize=150%2C150&ssl=1"> Sahra Shojaei holds a Bachelor of Biological Sciences as well as a Masters in Environmental Applied Science and Management, where her research focused on biomass energy and biogas from organic waste. Through her previous nonprofit roles, she’s brought together sustainability professionals and community members to connect and collaborate on issues surrounding sustainability and the environment.
A Sustainability Consultant at Sustainability Consultant Network, Sahra also sits on the board of Sustainability Ontario Community Energy Co-op., is a committee member of Water for People and Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO), and a member of Women In Renewable Energy (WIRE). She believes that some of the world’s most pressing issues can be resolved through the provision and fair access to renewable energies, and strives to be part of the energy transition movement.  She is fluent in English and Farsi.
