Part 1 of 3 eventsWhat are Green Development Standards and how are other communities implementing them?Guelph will soon begin developing a <a href="https://www.cleanairpartnership.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Municipal-Green-Development-Standards-July-2024.pdf" title="https://www.cleanairpartnership.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Municipal-Green-Development-Standards-July-2024.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Green Development Standard (GDS)</a> that will create standards for new development applications in the city. These standards will include the energy transition, climate resilience, active transportation and other sustainable features into the planning approvals process. They also have the ability to raise the bar on new developments and help us get to our Net Zero and 100% Renewable Energy goals long before 2050.eMERGE wants to help the community to be prepared for this critical next step in climate action. In the weeks to come we will have three speakers that will bring their expertise to assist us in our GDS even before the public process begins.Pay what you can to help us cover the cost of the event space

She advises federal, provincial, and municipal policy makers and industry leaders on building sustainable and resilient communities. Her unique area of expertise is facilitating complex, multi-stakeholder policy and decision-making environments to deliver results.
