Description
Love native plants? If so, join Toronto Botanical Garden and North American Native Plant Society for this fun and educational workshop.
Paul Heydon, owner of Grow Wild! Native Plant Nursery in Omemee, near Peterborough, will discuss native seed harvesting and germination techniques, including stratification, scarification and double dormancy. Students will discover easily-propagated species, as well as some more challenging woodland plants, and will also participate in a seed treatment activity.
Paul is a biologist, landscape designer and more! His company provides biological consulting, ecological restoration, Ecosystem Land Classification surveying, and locally-sourced native plants. When not busy in the nursery or at restoration sites, Paul spends his time exploring nearby nature with his two young children.
Space is limited. Register early to avoid disappointment. Registration closes at 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 23rd.
