Helping Children Learn

Seasoned educator, working in education for 37 years. The best sessions involve enough humour to keep us awake (LOL) and merely an extended conversation with an engaged audience to find solutions which parents can adapt to solve real problems. This hour and a half will go fast. Please come and bring friends!

Lorraine Leishman, B.Ed., M.A. Educational Psychology

This event is an opportunity to get your questions answered about ways to help children who are struggling in school, including struggling socially or behaviorally. The session is designed around the reasons the audience members come. We are likely to talk about reading comprehension, writing skills, social skills, behavioral self-control, realistic expectations, attention span, discipline, self-esteem, confidence, help-seeking, communication with the school, motivation and how to decrease or increase it, the fight, flight or freeze reaction and what that does to learning, the secret structure behind learning anything... and more, depending on the questions.
