Hips in Motion is more than just learning choreography, it is an invitation to dance, reconnect with your body, and celebrate self-expression through guided instruction. Whether you’re in your 20s, 40s, 60s or beyond, come move at your own pace, build confidence, connect with others, and have some fun.
This class focuses on building hip mobility, unlocking strength, and experiencing true freedom of movement in a welcoming, supportive space. Whether you’re looking to release tension, boost your energy, or simply move to great music, this space is for you.
Led by Shakkoi Hibbert, this welcoming workshop uses uplifting Afro-Caribbean music and guided movement to support hip mobility, confidence, and overall well-being.
What to Bring: a rag, yoga mat, water bottle

This workshop is part of Roots & Rhythm: Senior Dance Classes, Nia Centre’s pilot senior dance programming designed to create intentional opportunities for older adults to engage in creative movement, build community, and experience the joy of dance together.
