Creating a global movement of change agents. #ChangeTheNow is experiential learning opportunity, under the direction of Social Innovation at Georgian College, and as part of the Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. #ChangeTheNow workshops, event and engagements support participants as they work in innovation teams to collaborate on tackling place-based approaches to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Join at Barrie HomeShare's first virtual community feast!  Participants have the opportunity to cook, then eat together on-line.

<h1>Come Be Our Guest!</h1><p>We are encouraging anyone who is feeling isolated or looking for a fun way to break bread with community, to be our guest at Georgian College's and the City of Barrie's inaugural Barrie HomeShare, <em>HomeFeast Event</em>!</p><p>Open to our entire community, the goal of HomeFeast is to connect Adults 55+ with a Georgian College Student to share an opportunity to cook a meal together online and participate in a community feast.  </p><p>For families or caregivers, with 55+ parents or family members in the Barrie area, we are encouraging you to order one of our four meal kits below and participate as a family.   </p><h3>Not interested in cooking or ordering the meal kit? </h3><blockquote><em>Participants can also just come, relax and enjoy the interactive entertainment by Barrie's very own Andrea Murray.</em></blockquote><p>HomeFeast is more than just sharing a meal; it is about connecting our city's diverse, differently-abled, and inter-generational members together in the spirit of community</p><p><strong>Will you be our Guest?</strong></p>

<h1> Order A Ready-To-Go Meal Kit</h1><h3><em>Make it easy!</em></h3><p>Our talented team at Georgian&#x27;s The Last Class(TLC) campus pub have created ready-to-go meals kits for each of the four nutritious and delicious recipes below.  Meal kits can be ordered online and then either picked-up at the Barrie Campus or delivered to your door within Barrie city limits.  </p><h3><em>Deadline for ordering your meal kit(s) has been EXTENDED to Thu. March 18 @ 3:30pm!**</em></h3><p>Proceeds from the sales of HomeFeast meal kits go to the Georgian Food Locker which supports students facing food insecurity.  </p><p>Where possible, we are providing meal kits to students and seniors who may be on a budget to ensure everyone has an opportunity to join on March 25th.  </p><p>We are also able to accept pre-purchased meal kits as &#x27;gifts&#x27; to support community members in need.</p><p>If you have any questions regarding our meal kits please reach out to ccsi@georgiancollege[dot]ca </p><h3><em>Check out what our Georgian Chefs have prepared just for you!</em></h3>

<h2>Next Steps:</h2><ol><li>   Reach out to your favourite adult 55+, friend, co-worker, differently-abled neighbour to see if they would be interested in being your HomeFeast Buddy.  <em>Your goal</em> - prepare/cook a meal together virtually and then join in on an online feast with other members of our community.</li><li>   Decide if you want to order a meal kit(s) for one of the four delicious recipes listed above. (You don't have to choose the same recipe.) <em> **All meal kits cost $20 (with a portion of proceeds going back to our Georgian College Students' Association and the Food Locker.) </em>Ingredients for each recipe will be carefully assembled by our on-campus restaurant team at The Last Class(TLC).</li><li>   Once you have registered here on Eventbrite, you will be emailed a link to an order form where you can select the meal kit for you and your HomeFeast buddy.</li><li>   You can choose touch-less curbside pick-up of your meal kit at the TLC located at the Barrie Campus, Georgian College(map will be provided) <strong>OR</strong> you can request delivery  to your door if you are within the Barrie city limits. </li><li>   From 4-5pm on March 25th, prep and cook your meal with your HomeFeast buddies together online, <em>then</em></li><li>   Together join the larger online community feast at 5pm to enjoy eating your meal while our amazing comedic host Andrea Murray entertains you. (A  Zoom link will arrive via email by 3pm on March 25th.  Share it with your HomeFeast Buddy, so they can join in as well.)</li></ol><p><strong>**If you don't want to purchase a meal kit,</strong> you can choose to gather your own ingredients for one of the four recipes, prepare it from 4-5pm with your HomeFeast buddy, and then join the feast at 5pm to eat with the community.</p>

<h1>Hosted by Andrea Murray</h1><p>Witty, charming, bratty and bold…Andrea Murray is a comedic performer that cannot be described in only one or two words. This Barrie Ontario entertainer has quickly gained a reputation as being ‘a must see’ and has left audiences all across Ontario wanting more from this feisty, funny gem. </p><p>Andrea received rave reviews after MC'ing BarrieFolk, Mariposa Folk Festival, Barrie Arts Awards and the Georgian’s Got Talent show. Andrea was a cast member of the Vagina Monologues in 2012 the first ever sold out production for the newly created Five Points Theatre. </p><p>Andrea is also a regular performer for the Barrie International Comedy Festival alongside Colin Mochrie, Andrea Martin and Sandra Shamas. In 2014, Andrea debuted her first one woman show Not So Local at the Five Points Theatre for the second annual Barrie International Comedy Festival.</p>

<h2>Music by Kailey Hawkins</h2><p>Music has been a huge part of who Kailey is for as long as she can remember.  She loves it all – everyone from Beethoven to the Beatles, from John Prine to The Who. She believes that music has healing properties and has the ability to bring us all together! Kailey is a proud volunteer of the Summerfolk Music and Crafts Festival, and co-host their radio show Georgian Bay Roots Radio which promotes local and original music and performers.</p>

<h3>Learn More About Barrie HomeShare</h3><p>Barrie HomeShare, an initiative out of the Centre for Changemaking and Social Innovation, in partnership with the City of Barrie is dedicated to helping adults 55+ and Georgian College students connect. Its goal is to support adults 55+ with help around things like technology, simple household chores and help students feel better connected to their community through volunteerism and affordable housing, post pandemic.
