Overview

Hour Plus Plus of Code features various one-off workshops for high school-age students to learn how to code and implement digital tools.

Turtle Graphics Workshop

The Turtle Graphics in Python workshop (open to grades 8-12) will introduce students to coding concepts through creating pictures and shapes on a virtual canvas using the Python turtle library. This workshop will require some programming experience in Python and will use Google Colaboratory.


Summary of Workshop Details

Date: March 7th, 2026 (Saturday)

Time: 1:30 -3:30 pm

PLEASE NOTE THE TIME HAS CHANGED FROM WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY ADVERTISED

Grades: 8-12

Cost: Free

Location: Virtual via Zoom. The meeting link will be opened 30 minutes before the workshop starts for students to test their setup (e.g. is your audio working?).


Workshop Requirements

  • Internet access
  • Laptop/desktop computer
  • Google account with Google Colaboratory. We will be using Colab notebooks for this workshop.


Additional Notes

  • We use the same learning materials as past workshops. If you attended a workshop with the same description, the materials presented will be the same. However, if you need a refresher on that specific topic, please feel free to join the workshop again!
  • The Zoom link will be sent before the event.
  • The meeting link will be open 30 minutes before the workshop starts for attendees to test their setup (e.g. is your audio working?).
  • Please only sign up if you can attend the workshop and please cancel your Eventbrite ticket if you can no longer attend the workshop. Please be respectful of these guidelines so that we can continue to offer such programs at no cost.
