Hamilton Youth Poets(HYP) was created in 2012 to give our community's youth the opportunity to develop their creative skills and have their voices heard.HYPhas grown steadily and evolved into an arts organization that engages Hamilton youth in the act of telling their own stories through spoken word.

Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you winning the slam. ARE YOU READY TO KICK 2020 OFF WITH SOME POETRY, HAMILTON?Welcome to the first HYP poetry slam of the new year! They say how you start the year, defines it (literally and metaphorically), so why not start with a dash of poetic spice to season another revolution around the sun!

January 26, bring those fresh, 2020-scented metaphors. New year, new bars.

Bring your friends. Bring your grandma. Bring your estranged family members. Nothing brings people together like poetry!
