They are among “Toronto’s best young chamber musicians” (Bachtrack) and recipients of the 2019 Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Performance of an Ensemble in an Opera. The Happenstancers helm a rotating cast of innovative voices on Toronto’s classical scene. With a knack for combining cutting-edge contemporary repertoire with expressive works from the traditional canon, The Happenstancers feature “an obscene amount of talent” (The WholeNote), presenting concerts hailed as “bizarrely eclectic, ... very intriguing and rewarding” (John Gilks, operaramblings).

HYPERSUITE deconstructs the forms of J.S. Bach’s beloved solo instrumental suites, creating a concert-length work comprised of movements from his sonatas and partitas and connecting them with electrifying works from the contemporary repertoire. This peformance features 4 solo artists performing music for violin, cello, english horn and clarinet. HYPERSUITE interweaves the new and the old, connecting ideas across time and illuminating an intimate music lineage.
