As an English-language cultural centre located in the historical quarter of Quebec City, the Morrin Centre strives to be a leading cultural institution of national standing, providing the Francophone and Anglophone public with rich, engaging programming in the areas of heritage interpretation, education, and the arts.  Building upon our building’s history and key institutions, our programming aims to provide historical perspective on Quebec City’s unique French-English heritage, develop enhanced educational opportunities for youth,  and act as a springboard for artistic creativity.--Le Morrin Centre est un centre culturel de langue anglaise qui fait la promotion du patrimoine de la communauté anglophone à Québec, encourage les échanges culturels et offre une grande variété d’activités, telles que des services de bibliothèque, des visites guidées, des rencontres avec des auteurs, des ateliers d’écriture et un festival d’écrivains. Son édifice de 200 ans, situé au coeur du Vieux-Québec, est géré par la Literary and Historical Society of Quebec et fait partie des lieux historiques nationaux du Canada.

Peter McAuslan is a native of Lachine, Quebec, graduating from Sir George Williams University in 1972. He was Secretary-general of Dawson College in 1987 when he left to establish the McAuslan Brewing Company, a ground-breaking and internationally respected small brewery. Peter has served as a director of many industry and community boards and has received many awards and distinctions. Peter was awarded the Order of Canada in 2017 for his pioneering work in the development of the small brewing industry in Quebec, his commitment to the support of the arts and his leadership in establishing the Chair in Canadian-Scottish Studies at McGill University. He is the founder and president of the McAuslan Malting and Distilling Company, developing and marketing “Peter McAuslan&#x27;s Spirits” in Quebec.He will talk about his book Brewing Better Beer: The Story of St-Ambroise and the Birth of Quebec Craft Brewing with host Peter Black.Order Peter&#x27;s book now at La Maison Anglaise and the Festival will receive 30% of the sale! Peter McAuslan est originaire de Lachine, au Québec, et a obtenu son diplôme de l&#x27;université Sir George Williams en 1972. Il a été secrétaire général du Collège Dawson jusqu&#x27;en 1987, date à laquelle il a quitté son poste pour fonder la Brasserie McAuslan, une petite brasserie révolutionnaire et respectée sur le plan international. Peter a été directeur de nombreux conseils industriels et communautaires et a reçu de nombreux prix et distinctions. Peter a reçu l&#x27;Ordre du Canada en 2017 pour son travail de pionnier dans le développement de la petite industrie brassicole au Québec, son engagement à soutenir les arts et son rôle dans l&#x27;établissement de la des chaires d&#x27;études canado-écossaises à l&#x27;Université McGill.
