IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician Exam Prep Course

This entry-level certification addresses the fundamentals of temporary traffic control techniques. The exam tests the student’s knowledge of the design, installation, and maintenance concepts for traffic control devices and defines relevant standards for typical urban, rural, and highway scenarios.

Students are tested on their ability to identify which devices would be needed and their proper placement in the work zone per MUTCD standards. It also covers traffic control theory and equipment, hand signaling tools, typical construction scenarios, and traffic terminology. This certification tests the important knowledge to keep workers, pedestrians and motoring public safe in work zones.

Target Audience:
Recommended for all workers in the public right-of-way or next to vehicular traffic.


Lunch is included. Other meals, transportation or hotels are not included.
