In Remembrance

Currently directed by composer Ryan Noakes, we are a chamber choir  of approximately 24 singers based in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Our music spans a dynamic array of styles and genres, ranging from the early Renaissance to present day. The choir was formed in the early 90's and has been delighting audiences in Kamloops ever since.

The Cantabile Singers of Kamloops present their 12th annual Remembrance Day performance.

Since 2011, we have brought together the community of Kamloops to remember and honour those affected both directly and indirectly by war and conflict.The&nbsp;choir will be performing moving choral selections ranging from music written in the the 16th Century to gospel spirituals up to the world premiere of a setting of the iconic wartime poem&nbsp;In Flanders Fields&nbsp;composed by Kamloops composer and our music director Ryan Noakes in 2019. The first half of the concert will be dedicated to musical&nbsp;expressions of grief for those who are&nbsp;no longer with&nbsp;us, shifting to a&nbsp;sense of hope for&nbsp;the&nbsp;future in the second half.Remembrance Day is a very important day for so many people. Whether you were affected through service or living in an area impacted by conflict, or you know someone has been or currently is in active service or living through conflict, Remembrance Day can be a very emotional day for many of us. It is a unique privilege for us to be a part of people's observance of this meaningful day.
