Is there parking? How do I get there?

Brighton Block is accessible by public transit, just a few blocks from the nearest train station. Pay parking is available nearby. Transit is probably the easiest option.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

How much does it cost?

Standard tickets are $25. Sliding scale tickets are available with a recommended price of $10 for those with limited budgets, same experience, no questions asked.

Why is there a sliding scale?

Accepted Answer

Because many of the people who should be in this room are nonprofits, early stage social enterprises, and individuals doing important work without large budgets. We want the economics of attending to match the values of the event. If $25 is a barrier, $10 might not be.

What does my ticket include?

Accepted Answer

Appetizers, treats, drinks, and a custom laser engraved name tag. Food options include vegan, gluten free, and halal choices. The bar features local brewery beer, wine, and alcohol free options (no high balls). No cash required.

Is there a panel or presentations?

Accepted Answer

No. There are no obligatory presentations, no panel, and no pitch rounds. The only structured moments are when we briefly hear from one of the Co-Host groups to share two minutes on what they’re working on. Then it’s back to free flowing conversation. By design, this is not a presentation.

What is the give and take board?

A shared space in the venue where attendees can post things they’re looking for, things they have to offer, resources they want to share, or connections they’re trying to make. It’s organic, informal, and often where some of the best cross pollination happens.

Is there a start time I need to arrive for?

There is no hard programming start time. The event is open from the moment you walk in at 4:30 PM. Different parts of the space will be active and interesting from the beginning. There will be a few on mic moments throughout the evening to spotlight an individual or someone at a table.

When and where is the event?

In The Loop takes place on May 27, 2025 at Brighton Block in downtown Edmonton (9666 Jasper Ave). Doors open at 4:30 PM. The event runs from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with the space available until 8:30 to 9:00 PM if conversations are still flowing.

Who belongs at this event?

Accepted Answer

People actively engaged with social enterprise, tech for good, social impact, social innovation, or the circular economy in Edmonton. That includes  impact and impact curious businesses and professionals, startup founders to CEO's, employees, ecosystem partners, economic development workers, etc.

Who is this NOT for?

Accepted Answer

This is not for people there to sell something, hard pitch services, or look for clients. It’s not for people who think social enterprise is not a financially viable model, or who would dismiss a $50,000 a month business as too small to matter.

Can I bring a friend, partner, or colleague?

Accepted Answer

Yes, please do. Bring anyone who wants to belong in a  community like this. The more people working in this space and at the table, the better the conversation and bigger the impact.
