Facilitated by Lori Ann Roness.  Recreation programmers will be on site to offer children’s activities for parents who would like to attend.

Sackville Curling Club

Facilitated by Lori Ann Roness, the Blanket Exercise is based on using Indigenous methodologies and the goal is to build understanding about our shared history as Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada by walking through pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization and resistance. Everyone is actively involved as they step onto blankets that represent the land, and into the role of First Nations, Inuit and later Métis peoples. By engaging on an emotional and intellectual level, the Blanket Exercise effectively educates and increases empathy.August 13, 2022 from 1:30-4:30pm at the Sackville Curling ClubImportant Notes:- Register before August 11, 2022 - Recreation programmers will be on site to offer children’s activities for parents who would like to attend. - There will also be on site counselling services for anyone who might be triggered by the information presented. - We ask that participants bring a bed sheet or blanket with them they do not mind having getting dirty.-Masking to protect from COVID-19 are mandatory
