Intermediate Sewing Machine Skills: Sew Your First Pattern

Intermediate Sewing Machine Skills: Sew Your First Pattern

Overview

Ready to level up your sewing game? Join us for Intermediate Sewing Machine Skills and tackle your first pattern with confidence!

Intermediate Sewing: Sew Your First Pattern

Ready to move beyond simple projects and start sewing from a real pattern? This intermediate-level workshop is designed for confident beginners who know their way around a sewing machine and are excited to take the next step.

This is the same class as Part 2 of our Sewing Machine Skills 4 Week Series. We're listing it separately for those that are ready for their next step with sewing but don't want to sign up for the full month long series.

In this class, you’ll learn how to work with a sewing pattern from start to finish. We’ll cover how to read and interpret pattern instructions, choose the correct size, lay out and cut fabric and follow construction steps with accuracy and confidence. You’ll practice essential techniques such as seam allowances, markings and basic adjustments while assembling your first patterned project.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with a completed piece and the skills you need to confidently tackle future patterns on your own.

Prerequisites: Participants should be comfortable threading a sewing machine, sewing straight seams and using basic tools for sewing. For anyone that has taken our Sewing Machine Skills Workshop, this is a perfect second step!

*****Please note***** when you use the ‘contact organizer‘ feature on Eventbrite, we never receive any messages on our end. If you need to get a hold of us for any reason, please email us at edsmercantiletoronto@gmail.com OR send us a DM on our Instagram page @edsmercantiletoronto OR use the contact form on our website www.edsmercantiletoronto. com
