International Development Beyond the Headlines

Fig Tree Foundation supports Calgary-based organizations that work in international development. We do this by providing funding options through grants and loans and by providing networking and learning opportunities. We also raise public awareness about international development by hosting events and sharing information.Fig Tree Foundation was established in 2005 by a group of concerned Calgarians that had a desire to contribute to international development initiatives. Since then we have provided more than $420,000 in funding to support projects in 14 different countries.

Memorial Park Library

Peel back the headlines on international development and learn about the different actors in international development, the basics about how NGOs operate and the steps that go into international development projects. See what progress has been made in the past few decades and what impact COVID and other current events are having in developing countries. Y﻿ou&#x27;ll be able to ask any questions that you might have and learn about some of Calgary&#x27;s connections to international development. T﻿he event will be held at Memorial Park Library in the 2nd floor presentation room.
