Interwoven - Thriving at Work

Interwoven - Thriving at Work

Sisters Dialogue - AmanahEdmonton, AB
Saturday, Apr 18 from 2 pm to 4:30 pm
Overview

Explore how racism shapes our experiences in the workplace. Participants will also contribute to a collective weaving activity.

Interwoven - Thriving in Shared Spaces is for Muslim, Indigenous, Black and other racialized women living in Edmonton, who experience racism that affects their mental health, safety and sense of belonging.

Sisters Dialogue will hold four workshops, each focused on a different area of life where racism exists within workplaces, educational institutions, within or between communities, and even within extended families.

In this first session, Karis Nsofor will explore with participants how racism shapes our experiences in the workplace. The session will be a space to learn, share stories, and build connections across communities.

Participants will also contribute to a collective art piece based on weaving co-facilitated by Fatme Elkadry and Aida Elkadri. This is symbolic of how their individual stories and experiences are interlaced, creating something stronger and more beautiful together. It will be displayed at Amanah as a lasting testament to their shared journeys.

Weaving our voices into shared strength!

Childminding and refreshments provided.
