4-Hour Hands-On Workshop
📍 Denim Lab Calgary
📅 Saturday March 14, 2026
Step into the world of denim construction in this focused, small-group workshop where you’ll build your own durable, professional-style denim apron from start to finish.
This is the perfect introduction to working with heavier fabrics while refining your sewing skills in a studio environment.
👖 What You’ll Learn
Over 4 hours, you’ll:
• Work confidently with mid- to heavy-weight denim
• Construct clean seams and reinforced stress points
• Practice precision topstitching
• Learn proper edge finishing techniques
• Try a serger (optional, guided introduction)
• Leave with a finished, functional denim apron
This workshop bridges the gap between basic sewing and more advanced garment construction.
🧷 Skill Level
Some sewing machine experience required.
This workshop is ideal for you if:
• You can thread a sewing machine and wind a bobbin
• You’ve sewn at least a few small projects
• You’re comfortable sewing straight seams
• You’d like to try working with denim
• You’re curious about using a serger for the first time
No serger experience is required — you’ll be guided step-by-step.
If you’ve never used a sewing machine before, this workshop may move too quickly.
🏭 The Studio Experience
Denim Lab Calgary keeps classes intentionally small (maximum 4 participants) to ensure:
• Individual guidance

• Time to ask questions
You’ll rotate between machines and techniques, just like in a real denim workshop setting.

✔ Guided instruction
✔ Your completed apron to take home
Just bring yourself — everything else is provided.
