Introductory Dermascopy Workshop
Overview
Accreditation is included for the technical skills workshop portion.
Learning objectives
- Describe the principles and clinical applications of dermoscopy in primary care.
- Demonstrate proper handling and operation of a dermatoscope.
- Differentiate polarized and non-polarized dermoscopy and identify appropriate use cases for each.
- Recognize common benign and malignant dermoscopic structures.
- Apply a structured approach to pigmented and non-pigmented skin lesions.
- Integrate dermoscopy findings into decisions concerning reassurance, monitoring, biopsy or referral.
- Identify common pitfalls and limitations of dermoscopy in clinical practice.
Included educational materials
- Workshop slide presentation for live delivery; no editable slide deck is transferred to the Host.
- One participant workbook or equivalent learning package per registered participant, in [PRINT/DIGITAL] format.
- Clinical and dermoscopic image-review exercises.
- Recommended resources for ongoing learning.
