Galerie Cité is for the community, a program that lives in the public spaces of La Cite Francophone offering art exhibits, events and workshops for everyone.  Kickstarted by the Edmonton Heritage Council’s Living Local grant program, the Edmonton Arts Council, and the Federation of Community Leagues, we have transformed the public space of the French Cultural Centre.  Galerie Cité  provides unique opportunities for participants to explore the history of the area, have access to visual art and design education, regardless of background or ability.Galerie Cite is located on the traditional territories of Neyiyaw (Cree), Dene, Stoney-Nakota Sioux, Saulteaux, and Ojibwe, Metis Nation-Region 4, and all people who make their homes in Treaty 6 region of Central Alberta.La Galerie Cité est située dans les territoires traditionnels des Neyiyaws (Cris), des Dénés, des Sioux Stoney-Nakota, des Saulteaux, des Ojibwés, de la nation métisse (région 4) et de tous ceux qui sont installés dans la région visée par le traité no 6 du centre de l’Alberta.

Please join us at <A HREF="https://www.painter8.ca/invisible" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PAINTER8</A>, and other Edmonton art lovers alike, for the opening night of the <A HREF="https://www.painter8.ca/invisible" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">INVISIBLE</A> contemporary art exhibition about mental health awareness.
INVISIBLE is a group exhibition created by artists of PAINTER8, a non-profit arts society that uniquely holds painting as its primary medium.
PAINTER8’s exhibition, INVISIBLE, seeks to provoke dialogue on the topic of mental illness and challenge the stigma surrounding it. Inspiration behind INVISIBLE stems from the artists’ personal experiences, struggles and victories with mental illness. The artists have also engaged with their local community to collect their stories and spoken to mental health professionals to gain further insight on this subject.

Artists will be in attendance. Open to the public.
Cash bar at the opening. Catalogue available at the opening reception. Exhibition runs from Sept 26, 2019 through January 11, 2020 within the 2-level exhibition space at <A TITLE="La Cite Francophone" HREF="https://www.lacitefranco.ca" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">La Cité Francophone</A>.
