Open Data for Development (OD4D) is the leading global partnership to advance the creation of locally-driven and sustainable open data ecosystems around the world.Open Data Services Co-operative work with organisations across the world to make sure open data is useful, usable and in use through a focus on effective use of open data standards.

<A HREF="https://github.com/OpenDataServices/iodc-data-standards-day-2018" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Data Standards Day</A> is an opportunity for anyone working on open data standards to come together and share learning, ideas and actions. 
Taking place just before the main <A HREF="http://www.opendatacon.org" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">International Open Data Conference</A>, this year’s Data Standards Day is convened by <A HREF="http://www.opendataservices.coop" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Open Data Services Co-operative,</A> with support from <A HREF="http://www.od4d.net" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">OD4D</A>.
The day will consist of four parts, starting with coffee and light breakfast from 08:30am.
<H2>(1) The State of Open Data Standards</H2>
09:15 - 10:30
The 2016 International Open Data Roadmap called for the open data community to “develop and adopt user-centric open standards”. Join us to discuss and take stock of progress: exploring recent learning on creating and maintaining open standards for data, progress towards open data interoperability, and outstanding challenges on the road ahead.
With speakers from the Open Data Institute, Open Data Watch, Open Data Charter, Open Knowledge and GovEx. 
<H2>(2) Mapping the standards landscape</H2>
11:00 - 12:00
We’ll be identifying existing standards, and standards gaps - and identifying the actors and actions that could improve the discovery, creation, adoption and governance of open standards for data.
<H2>(3) Identifying issues</H2>
12:00 - 13:00
Hear pitches for key issues that the standards community need to address, and join small groups to discuss priority issues for action. 
<H2>(4) Working sessions</H2>
14:00 - 17:00
The afternoon is given over to working sessions for data standard projects to consult on their development, and make progress on the usability and interoperability of standards.
