“Irreversible Entanglements wakes the frozen body to move, the dead mind to react, the mute mouth to scream resistance.”- NPRDriven by poet Camae Ayewa’s (aka Moor Mother) searing narrations of Black trauma, survival, and power, Irreversible Entanglements brings first-wave free jazz’s tradition of resistance acutely into the present. As creative and adventurous as any contemporary avant-garde jazz, Irreversible Entanglements offers listeners no abstractions to hide behind. This is music that both honours and defies tradition, speaking to the present while insisting on the future. Featuring saxophonist Keir Neuringer, bassist Luke Stewart, trumpeter Aquiles Navarro, and drummer Tcheser Holmes, this is “one of the most powerful and relevant works of art you’ll encounter this year” (The Quietus).Venue/Show Details<ul><li>The Ironworks is one of a kind venue in Vancouver's East side. This event is general admission and to get the most out of the magical atmosphere, we recommend arriving early for the most choice. Seating is a mix of cabaret and theatre style, as well as standing room.</li></ul><ul><li>Lobby, bar, box office &amp; seating all open one hour prior to performance.</li></ul><ul><li>Please note: We recommend bringing cash for the bar and any artist merchandise you wish to purchase. Additionally, there is no ATM on-site but there is a cash machine located in the Alibi Room (Modern Tavern) right next door.</li></ul><ul><li>Venue is fully accessible.
