It Matters. PERIOD. An inclusive evening highlighting the importance of Menstrual Equity in Waterloo Region and beyond.

About this event

Changing the Flow & Wellbeing Waterloo Region invite you to attend

It Matters. PERIOD.

Featuring a short film screening followed by a discussion panel with valued community members.

Show your support, learn how you can make a difference, buy a limited-edition It Matters. Period zine or other unique offerings from local vendors and artisans.

Vendors tables will be set up for browsing and purchases before and after the presentation portion of the evening.

7pm-730pm: Vendor fair - Information Tables

730- 830pm: "Free Period" (6 min) Film Screening & Discussion Panel w/ Community Voices

830-855pm: Last chance to visit the vendor fair & take a period selfie before leaving.

Moon Time Sisters will be accepting donations of period products at the event.

You will have the option to buy period products at the event at a reduced price from Changing The Flow or you can bring unopened boxes of pads or tampons for donation.

Important Venue Information:

  • Doors open at 7pm
  • This event will include a menstrual equity zine, vendors/selfie station, a film screening of the short film Free Period and a panel discussion.
  • Washrooms will be designated as all gender for this event.
  • The main entrance of the venue is at 141 Ontario St. N, Kitchener. The entrance is the bottom of a flight of outside stairs.
  • Should you require accommodation to access the venue, please contact us at hello@changingtheflow.ca and we will be happy to assist you.
  • Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the Apollo concession stand.

Did you know?

Northern Indigenous communities face additional barriers to menstrual equity. Period products cost a lot more, and availability is also an issue. Moon Time Sisters has been working to address this inequity since 2017.

What can you do?

About Moon Time Sisters - Ontario Chapter:

We partner with over 30 northern Indigenous communities in Ontario, Quebec, Nunavut, and Northwest Territories to supply people who menstruate with free period products. Moon Time Sisters Ontario works with high schools, health care centres, food banks, women’s shelters, midwifery organizations, and community programs to ensure these products are accessible to the community.
