Ivy Weaving Workshop
Discover the art of crafting baskets from invasive English ivy!
In this hands-on experience, you will learn all the steps of collecting, preparing, and weaving ivy. Learn about nature while you connect with fellow participants. You'll leave with your own completed ivy basket. No experience is necessary; all materials are provided.
About the Instructor
Grace Nombrado is the founder and Executive Director of Free the Fern Stewardship Society, a nonprofit that cares for the Champlain Heights Trails, one of the last forests in Vancouver. Grace has worked on a number of planting projects, including creating: the Douglas Fir Teaching Garden, a Community Food Forest, and a Pollinator Garden along the trail. Since learning how to ivy basket weave from Still Moon Arts in 2022, Grace has also been teaching weaving workshops across Metro Vancouver. Grace loves to transform invasive plant material into beautiful and functional baskets!
WHAT:
