The 12th Annual J-Awards | A ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of the journalism students at Durham College.

Get Ready for J-Awards 2026!

We are pleased to announce the 12th annual J-Awards will be held at Durham College’s W. Galen Weston Centre for Food at the Whitby Campus. Guests are invited to join us in celebrating the hard work and exceptional achievements of the Journalism - Mass Media (JOMM) students. We are proud to have such talented students producing work for The Chronicle and are excited to host this event.

The event will start off with a cocktail reception featuring a cash bar, light hors d'oeuvres and a red carpet photo opportunity. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to engage in an immersive journalism experience and enjoy a journalism showcase walk through. The event will then move into an awards ceremony to celebrate student achievements, featuring our keynote speaker, Brian Legree.
