Small World Music Series showcases the diverse musical expression: from emerging artists to internationally-celebrated stars at Canada’s most storied venue, the programming has a range and breadth reflective of our city.

Presented by Small World Music Join us for a night of rhythmic explorations and experimental sounds as we celebrate <a href="https://jazzday.com/" title="https://jazzday.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">International Jazz Day</a>! The evening features Toronto based bands: MINT, The Uncharted Quartet and Saffron Tea with Saba Zameni. About the Artists:<a href="https://mintmusic.net/" title="https://mintmusic.net/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">MINT</a> is a groovy guitar and drum duo who bring a blend of melodic and rhythmic elements of R&amp;B, soul, hip hop, funk and jazz while adding their individual inspiration to the mix. MINT creates a chill vibe and head bobbing atmosphere, which encompasses dreamy reflection and storytelling.

The Uncharted Quartet is a dynamic ensemble that embraces spontaneity and emotion. The band includes <a href="https://www.instagram.com/cello.kabob/" title="https://www.instagram.com/cello.kabob/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Isaiah Farahbakhsh</a> (cello), <a href="https://www.instagram.com/imnotchrispruden/" title="https://www.instagram.com/imnotchrispruden/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Chris Pruden</a> (piano), <a href="https://www.instagram.com/jeff.luciani/" title="https://www.instagram.com/jeff.luciani/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jeff Luciani</a> (drums), and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/neda.mohamadpour/" title="https://www.instagram.com/neda.mohamadpour/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Neda Mohamadpour</a> (vocals). Their sound is shaped by microtonal textures, expressive melodic storytelling, rhythmic fluidity, and open-ended exploration. Rooted in a spirit of curiosity and cross-cultural dialogue, the quartet deconstructs traditional musical frameworks, weaving together elements of Iranian folk music, improvisation and experimental soundscapes.

Blending microtonal elements of Middle Eastern music and jazz, the group crafts a sound that is both rooted in tradition and open to new possibilities. Saffron Tea thrives on musical curiosity, venturing into unfamiliar spaces while maintaining deep respect for heritage.
