The name says it all! Inspired by visits from Buenos Aires to Saskatoon, Lucas Clementi (trumpet), Meliza Blanco (harmonica/vocals), and Demien Nunez (guitar) formed Jazzkatoon–a trio playing jazz, blues, funk, and roots, all with a Latin American flare! The group features Meliza’s amazing harmonica (most recently competing in the World Harmonica Competition in Germany!) and Spanish/ English vocals, along with Lucas’ trumpet and Demien’s guitar. Back in town for the 2026 Saskatchewan Jazz Festival and making their Bassment debut, Jazzkatoon’s performances are jazz que vive–jazz that lives!
