A﻿bout the Program: M﻿usic BC is excited to announce a new component to our Jumpstart series, Jumpstart Talks! We believe that fostering a stronger music community and infrastructure in BC is achieved through sharing stories and engaging in open dialogue. As a Music Industry Association, we consider education to be a cornerstone of our mission. This series not only offers artists valuable learning experiences, but also allows community leaders to witness how we can shape a brighter future for all. We are thrilled to welcome Kardinal Offishall as our first Jumpstart Talks Keynote speaker. This carefully crafted discussion, led by Prevail, will showcase the impact of Hip-Hop on art, culture, and society as we commemorate its 50th anniversary. Kardinal is continuing to lead and inspire by releasing his own creative projects, as well as the work of the artists he signs and mentors. He has quite literally ran with the torch during the Olympics, performed for Nelson Mandela, was federally appointed one of Canada’s ambassadors during the country’s “150th anniversary of its confederation” and proudly serves as Global A&amp;R at Def Jam Records. Forever pouring into the minds and hearts of current and future legends, Kardinal is the definition of excellence, “coming from the cold”.We would like to give thanks to ADVANCE, Canada's Black Music Business Collective for being an additional sponsor to the first Jumpstart Talks.A﻿ttendees will have an opportunity to submit questions in advance and ask them live during the event - click through to purchase your ticket and leave your question for Kardinal.Music BC always takes pride in being an inclusive and safe space for everyone.
