Are you feeling anxious or stressed when you think about climate change? Or are you beginning to think about climate change, and not sure how you are feeling? No matter where you are at, we invite you to join us for Kelowna&#x27;s first ever climate cafe. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences as they relate to the climate (maybe for the first time), and learn from others in a judgement free space. Every Wednesday throughout April and most of May, trained facilitators are offering a Climate Cafe to the Kelowna community. It will be a casual, supportive setting that allows you to meet like minded people, and discuss your thoughts, feelings, and worries about climate change. Facilitators will be available to ensure the space stays safe and nonjudgemental. Aside from that, participants are able to guide the discussion. Every week is sure to be different!What is a climate cafe? A climate cafe is a place to be open about how the climate crisis makes you feel in a supportive group setting. Facilitators guide the direction of the conversation. The focus is on sharing our experiences, rather than solutions. The goal of cafes is to create community and connection rather than solutions. Climate cafes are new to BC, however, have been gaining attention in Europe. However, it has quickly expanded to be focused on community connection. Themes from the cafe will be relayed back to the researcher, however, specific stories and details will remain confidential.
