Knife Sharpening Workshop

The Ottawa Tool Library is a lending library offering a wide range of household tools: hand tools, power tools, garden tools, and kitchen tools.Our mission is to engage and empower the community to participate in sharing resources by providing access to tools and skills for everybody.Our WorkSpace is set up with essential woodshop tools for you to come and work on your projects. Passes can be bought at the tool library after you've completed our safety training.

Ottawa Tool Library

A sharp knife is one of the small joys of life. Thankfully, hand sharpening knives is not a complicated skill.

Like most things, knife sharpening just takes some guidance, time, and practice. In our two-hour class, you will learn to hand sharpen your knives on whetstones. We will provide all materials needed and you just need to bring 2-3 kitchen knives for practice. This workshop is limited to 6 people so there is ample time for feedback and practice.Note:Workshops are transferable to another person, but non-refundable. Please make sure this date works with your schedule.
