Since 2010, the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance has been supporting research exploring the science of Knowledge Translation and Transfer. Nearly a decade and 88 projects later, the Alliance’s KTT Funding Program has yielded a summary of leading practices and lessons learned about KTT for agri-food and rural research. In this session, we will discuss why and how this manual was developed, how it has been rolled out to and received by the research community, and lessons learned for future KTT capacity building.

Shannon Brown is the Knowledge Mobilization Manager for the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance. She is also a co-lead on the CIHR-funded project Empowered Bottom – a multi-provincial public health campaign aimed at increasing the uptake of HPV vaccinations among queer, young adult men.

Shannon completed her Master of Public Health at the University of Guelph with a focus on communications strategies to reduce skin cancer risks among LGBTQ+ populations. She spends most of her time teaching students about principles of design, planning knowledge exchange events, listening to podcasts, and petting fewer cats than she would like to.
