Disability Privilege is a grassroots arts and advocacy movement dedicated to raising awareness around accessibility, equal opportunity, and representation—using comedy as the vehicle for change. At its core, the movement challenges the outdated notion that disability belongs on the sidelines by putting professional comedians with disabilities front and centre, where their talent—not their diagnosis—does the talking.

Laughs Without Limits, the movement’s flagship comedy showcase, proves a simple but often overlooked truth: comedians with disabilities are not only funny—they are some of the most original voices in comedy today. Their lived experience brings a perspective that resonates deeply with audiences while breaking down stereotypes through laughter rather than lectures.

Accessibility is not an add-on—it is the foundation. For people who use mobility devices, accessible comedy venues mean more than entry; they mean belonging. Seeing peers on stage, being able to attend without barriers, and sharing in a communal night of laughter has a powerful impact on mental health, cultural participation, and social inclusion.
