Customize a leather mask with artist Dale Ladouceur

Alberta Craft Gallery & Shop - Edmonton

Participants will awaken a full faced, leather mask from a pre-formed, sleeping blank. Each person will be guided to awaken their mask by drawing their spirit into their work, creating an original reflection of self. This mask workshop will discuss the role of masks throughout history and how the makers personality finds its way into the mask. Participants are encouraged to bring anything from home or from nature they wish to incorporate into the mask. If time allows, finished masks may be discussed and interpreted.All materials will be provided.Suitable for ages 10+, minors must be accompanied by an adultAbout your instructor:Dale Ladouceur is a musician, (The Broke Ensemble, Ancient Jammers), composer, writer, journalist, producer and artisan. She has been facilitating music &amp; leather workshops privately and in schools for over two decades. Dale lives as an environmentalist, peacenik, treehugger and can say “I love you” in 52 languages.Please note that the Alberta Craft Council – Edmonton is currently not wheelchair accessible. Registration for this event will close February 10 at noon MST.
