Invest Ottawa is dedicated to helping Ottawa entrepreneurs make informed decisions about starting and growing their businesses. We promote Ottawa's economy, through the development of products and services that encourage entrepreneurship and support business growth.Invest Ottawa has a staff of dedicated business professionals, who provide advice and counsel to entrepreneurs on a variety of levels. As well, we provide links to other business organizations, seminars and entrepreneurial events, online training and many other tools and resources to assist the budding entrepreneur.

Invest Ottawa Education Centre

You will learn about funding options offered by OCLF to start a business, upgrade your skills; and our educational programs.

The Ottawa Community Loan Fund (OCLF) is a charitable organization, founded in 2000, focused on financial literacy education as well
 as helping newcomers become entrepreneurs. We do this through educational workshops as well as by helping arrange loans of up to
 $60,000, but with an average of around $15,000, to start and expand businesses in Ottawa. Currently the OCLF arranges loans from
 Futurpreneur Canada and other community partners in Ottawa.
By attending the Lending a Hand workshop, you will be learning about:
<ul><li>Our various loan programs and their requirements;
</li><li>Tips on preparing for a loan application;
</li><li>Q&amp;A about the business loan process;
</li><li>OCLF educational programs and other services.</li></ul>About the Speaker: Kais Al-IrianiKais Al-Iriani is the Senior Loan Officer and Facilitator at Ottawa Community Loan Fund (OCLF). Kais comes with over ten years of
 experience as an entrepreneur, in which he founded several non-profit organizations and private businesses. He led the establishment
 of programs to support small enterprises, and directly assisted start-up companies as a mentor. Kais has a long experience as a
 project manager and a project management consultant. In addition to his background as an engineer, he holds an MBA. Kais believes
 in entrepreneurship as a means to fulfil individual aspirations and to benefit the society.About OCLFThe Ottawa Community Loan Fund (OCLF) is an incorporated non-profit charitable organization working for financial empowerment in
