Live Experiments in Spatial Sound
LESS is a concert series dedicated to live performance with 4Dsound, where spatialization is treated as a core compositional parameter. Positioned between fully composed spatial works and conventional stereo presentation, LESS explores the in-between: performances that manipulate space in real time as volumetric matter, a laboratory for embodied research. Movement, elevation, diffusion and density are performed live, allowing artists to shape the acoustic architecture as an active and responsive medium.
The series emphasizes immediacy, instability, and discovery. Within this framework artists engage the 4Dsound engine as an instrument, negotiating between compositional intent and shared spatial experience. LESS values risk, experimentation, and the possibility of failure as productive forces, encouraging performers to treat space as elastic and provisional rather than fixed or predetermined.
For both artist and audience, LESS offers the experience of inhabiting a shared, evolving acoustic ecology. Each event becomes a temporary construction—an ephemeral environment in which listening is situated, embodied, and collectively experienced.
