Let's talk about polyamory

Overview

Join in on a conversation with 3 special guests bringing over 60 years of their polyamorous relationship experience to the room!

Curious about polyamory?

We've gathered some special guests to delve into the joy, the hard stuff, the complexity, the friendships, and the big love energy of polyamory.

Meet our special guests...

Cass King & John Woods, who after 20 years of a polyamorous relationship, are still singing it's praises - literally. Cass and John toured the world with their band The Wet Spots, and will perform two of their polyamory themed songs for us!

John is a sexual health educator, and started a program called “Real Talks” about sexual health & relationships for people with disabilities.

Mike Burns (he/him)has practiced non-monogamy for over 20 years. Now based in Brackendale, he's been part of polyamory communities in Boston, New York, and Stockholm. He likes Metamour Appreciation Day more than his own birthday.

Hosted by Tif! Shen (she/her) & Paola Qualizza (she/her), two good friends who are always challenging norms, trying our best to be our truest selves, building community together, and having long deep conversations about it all. We are always learning so much from each other, so we decided to invite more people in and host events about things we love to talk about in hopes that we can learn even more, all together, with the benefit of more hearts, bodies, brains, and souls in the room.

😃 💞 Come for a casual and probably hilarous panel discussion about loving alternative relationships models and stay for the connections. Learn how Cass finds the joy in the hard stuff, how John stopped people pleasing, and how Mike continues to navigate complicated feelings.

Accessibility

Together we commit to creating an environment of respect. People of all ethnicities, races, genders, sexualities, ages, sizes, religions, cultures, and people respectful of alternative relationships styles are welcome!

Unfortunately the space is not wheelchair accessible.

There is no ASL translation provided.

The Land

This event takes place on the territory of Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation, which is unceded, meaning this land was never surrendered, relinquished, or handed over in any way by the Squamish Nation to the settler government. We're committed to learning from local Indigenous leaders and communities who have been stewards of this place and have had a relationship with this land since time immemorial. Especially when it comes to practicing so-called alternative relationship styles, we continue to learn how Indigeous peoples practice and have practiced loving relationships in many ways outside of the cis-hetero-normative way, ways that settler colonialism and white supremacy have attempted to erase.

Tickets are by donation, or contact us if you need a free ticket.
