We invite you to join us for the annual MacChangers Final Project Showcase at the Hamilton Convention Centre. Our final project showcase event will take place on Monday, April 3rd, 2023, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm EST at the Hamilton Convention Centre, located at 1 Summers Ln, Hamilton, ON L8P 4Y2. Students will present their final project solutions in the Chedoke and Webster Ballrooms!<a href="https://www.eng.mcmaster.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/MacChangers-Showcase-Program-1.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">C﻿LICK HERE TO VIEW OUR EVENT PROGRAM!</a>This year&#x27;s projects focus on our 4 Challenge Areas, which include Clean and Green, Healthy and Safe Cities, Supporting Local Businesses, Arts and Culture, and Infrastructure and Built Environment.The &quot;How Might We&quot; questions under these challenge areas align with the City&#x27;s 25-year community vision: Our Future Hamilton. Join us on April 3rd to see our MacChangers present their projects and ask them questions on the research that got them to their solutions! The event is open to all community members, City of Hamilton staff, McMaster students, staff, and faculty! We encourage you to save the date in your calendar for April 3rd, 2023, from 3:00 - 6:00 pm EST. There will be refreshments, light snacks served, and door prizes, up for grabs filled with MacChangers swag, goods from local businesses and sustainable products in each door prize. We look forward to bringing our community together again for the first time in almost three years! See you there, friends! Parking &amp; Arrival to the EventDetails regarding parking at the Hamilton Convention Center can be found on the Hamilton Convention Centre website. At the main entrance of the building (1 Summers Lane), two accessible parking spots are located. Staff at the Hamilton Convention Center strongly recommends individuals who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices utilize the parking spots above ground, rather than navigating the underground parking lot. The above ground parking lot is impacted by inclement weather; while the Hamilton Convention Center staff practices regular snow removal, we advise that individuals using wheelchairs or mobility devices may come in to contact with snow or slush upon arrival to the event. The MacChangers Showcase is taking place on the third floor of the Hamilton Convention Center in the Chedoke Ballroom (A) and the Webster Ballroom A, B, and C. An elevator is available to the left of the main entrance. The elevators are west facing. A Hamilton Convention Center staff member will be seated at a reception desk throughout the duration of the event and can direct attendees to the elevator if needed. There is also an escalator in the center of the lobby; attendees will need to take two escalator flights to the third floor. Doors to the Chedoke and Webster Ballrooms room will be left open throughout the event to make them wheelchair accessible. The doors accessing the elevator are wheelchair accessible. Bathroom AccessibilityThere are three bathrooms available for use. A female-identified one, a gender-inclusive bathroom, and a male-identified bathroom. They are all fully accessible. The gender-inclusive washroom is located on the second floor of the Hamilton Convention center, directly below the third-floor washrooms. It is located along the Albion corridor. The gender-inclusive washroom can be accessed using the escalators or the elevator. Signage for directions to the gender-inclusive washroom will be present on the third floor of the convention center. MacChangers volunteers will be available to direct you to the elevator and/or washrooms should attendees experience any difficulties. Event Space DescriptionThe Chedoke (A) Ballroom have a capacity for 350 people. The Webster (A, B, C) rooms have a capacity for 85 people in each room.MaskingMasking is optional. MacChangers will provide a supply of masks to individuals who do not have access or have forgotten a mask who wish to wear them. Seating in the Chedoke room is limited; however, some seating will be available. Please feel free to reach out to us ahead of the event if you would like us to reserve seating for you.Have a question we didn&#x27;t answer?
