The Make Good Comedy Show features MC Tarah Buchanan, guests Noor Kidwai, Brandon Sobel, Ariel Kagan and headliner Habib Siam. Stay tuned for some special guest appearances from a couple of your favourite locals.

Headliner Habib Siam is an internationally touring standup comedian who's performed from the UK to the Middle East and in 3 different languages. He was in the Toronto Fringe Festival, headlined Kenny Robinson's Nubian Show and is an avid chess player. Do not miss this chance to watch Habib knock down the dominoes like a house of cards. Check mate.

Guest Noor Kidwai grew up in the small farming town of High River, Alberta, which was the first place he began doing comedy. He has sharp writing, combined with a background in Improv which makes him quick on his feet. He now lives in Toronto and tours all over Canada and the UK. He’s performed at Just For Laughs 42, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, The Seattle International Comedy Competition, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.

MC Tarah Buchanan started doing standup comedy in Toronto in 2014 and hasn’t looked back. She has performed on stages from NY to LA, hosted the SNL cast at the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival in 2022. This girl has an unbreakable spirit and is proof of what small incremental improvements can add up to everyday!

Backroom Comedy Club was created from the ground up by two friends who wanted to showcase the work of their favourite local comics in Toronto.Ariel Kagan and Brandon Sobel, known for their comedic group name "Bubbie's Boys," began hosting various stand alone shows at venues around the city.Opening in February 2022, the club's atmosphere feels like you're hanging out with a bunch of friends, telling jokes in their basement.It's a casual hangout-type space, with up to eight tables of seating that can fit groups of six people at a time.When you enter Christie Pits Pub, look for the door on the right which will lead you downstairs to the space that Backroom Comedy occupies.
