Connie Kuramoto has been teaching Horticulture for over 30 years, and gardening for even longer.  She was a technician and instructor for Vancovuer Island University for 20 years, and currently teaches on contract for North Island College and Gaia College, as well as numerous workshops and talks throughout Vancouver Island and beyond.  Connie has worked in the Horticulture Industry in Greenhouses, Market Gardens, Florist Shops, Farms, and has managed her own Horticulture Training and Service Business, Gardens on the Go for nearly ten years.

Learn to brew aerated compost tea!  Improve your soil and  fight garden diseases using some simple equipment and a handful of compost.

<p>Aerated compost tea is not just your momma's hang a bag in a bucket kind of garden tea!  I have used lots of that, and  although  it is great for providing nutrients to plants, aerated compost tea is definitely a step above.  When you aerate compost tea you provide optimum conditions for the most beneficial types of garden micro organisms to grow and multiply.  These willing workers love eating disease organisms, and assist in nutrient delivery for your plants.  You will be amazed at the difference compost tea makes in your garden.  During this class we will demonstrate the brewing technique, talk about the best compost to use, and also discuss other garden brews that you can make to benefit your garden.  Participants will go home with bottles of compost tea, and other brews to use in their home garden, along with instructions on how to use them.  Tours of the Doighouse Earthship will be available following class.  </p>
