The Institute for Community Prosperity is a hub of social innovation, systems-learning and community engagement that bridges the knowledge, wisdom and experience of community with academic learning and scholarly insight. <H2>About MAP THE SYSTEM YYC</H2>
The Map the System YYC Showcase is an exciting new event, co-hosted by friendly rivals Mount Royal University and the University of Calgary. The top 3 Map the System finalists from each institution will compete for the Map the System city title and bragging rights. This event will provide MRU and UofC students the opportunities to showcase their research and system mapping skills related to complex social and environmental issues. This competition will help  support the winning teams from MRU and UofC prepare as they make their way to the Canadian Final at Ryerson University, Toronto and potentially the Global Final at Oxford University.

<A HREF="http://www.oxfordglobalchallenge.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Map the System</A> is an initiative of the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, in partnership with educational institutions across the world. MTS is a global competition that asks students and educators to think differently about social and environmental change. The competition challenges participants to thoroughly research a specific social or environmental issue in order to fully comprehend its underlying components. MTS is about using a systems-thinking approach to practice changemaking by demonstrating a deep understanding of a pressing social or environmental challenge. This is not a pitch competition, but rather a discovery process for students of any discipline who have an interest in social and environmental change.  Nonetheless, there is a 10-minute presentation component for each time, followed by Q&A from judges. 
With the support of the Institute of Community Prosperity (ICP), MRU students will be competing for the third consecutive year in the Map they System (MTS) challenge. MRU students have been highly successful in the Challenge and in 2018 Rosion Dillon; 4th MRU Nursing Student, won the global final in Oxford. ICP would like to showcase the remarkable research and skills of MRU students participating in the challenge and partnered with the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning at the University of Calgary. Both institutions will be sending thier top 3 teams to compete in this friendly competition  to showcase the the remarkable work of Map the System student teams from each institution to the broader Calgary community.
