<h3>Be A Kid with an afternoon of science experiments!</h3>This November, we're teaming up with<a href="https://www.scienceventure.ca/" title="https://www.scienceventure.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Science Venture</a> for an exciting afternoon of hands-on science, just for BIPOC kids and their families! From the mysteries of biology to the wonders of tech, we’ll be experimenting, building, exploring, and discovering a whole world of cool stuff.Think hands-on experiments, cool discoveries, and interactive activities that bring science to life. It’s science you can touch, explore, and get excited about!Come curious. Leave inspired. Don’t miss it — seriously.When: Saturday, November 15, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PMWhere: 3800 Finnerty Rd, Victoria, BCEvent Details:<ul><li>Children must be supervised by their adults at all times.</li><li>Caregiver participation is welcomed and encouraged!</li><li>You are welcome to bring your own snacks. Please, no nuts.</li><li>The event will take place in the D wing of MacLaurin, in rooms D010 and D016. There is no set admission fee; however, each adult and child in attendance (excluding babes in arms) must have a ticket for the event.Because Eventbrite doesn’t allow multiple tickets per single donation, each person needs to be registered separately. You’re welcome to choose a donation amount that works best for you for each ticket. Every child deserves the opportunity to try something new, to connect with nature, and to do so without the judgmental and scrutinizing gaze of the people around them.Unfortunately, for Black, Indigenous and Children of Colour, they often don’t get these opportunities.These children often face barriers when it comes to… being a kid. Barriers to participating in activities like finances, travel, time, lack of knowledge, stigma, fear for safety, and even just feeling like they’re going to stick out or be the only racialized kid there.<h3>Be a Kid events are</h3><ul><li>Fun and welcoming</li><li>Open to children who identity as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or a Child of Colour) and their immediate families/caregivers. White presenting kids with racial hertitage and white family members/caregivers are warmly welcomed.</li><li>Intended to build community. This program supports our members, the public, and their racialized kids in creating community.
