Math Matters

The Catholic School Parents' Association (CSPA) is an independent volunteer parent organization that represents parents and elected school council members of the Ottawa Catholic School Board. We support school councils in their efforts to engage the parent community of each school. By partnering with administrative staff at the Ottawa Catholic School Board, we are able to keep school councils and families informed about educational issues affecting their school community.

Supporting Your Child’s Math Journey in Grade 7 - 8

Join us for a workshop to support your child’s math learning in grades 7 to 8. We’ll discuss key concepts like fractions, decimals, and ratios, alongside effective problem-solving strategies and engaging activities. We will also look at how specific concepts learned in these important transition years prepare students for secondary school mathematics.&nbsp; We look forward to seeing you there!

About our SpeakerDr. Suurtamm is Professor Emeritus in Mathematics Education at the University of Ottawa. She was also the Research Advisor on the Ontario Elementary Mathematics Curriculum released in June 2020 and which is currently taught in our school.
