Learn how to succeed as an academic start-up and enjoy a networking lunch and roundtable session to have your questions answered by the investors themselves. Afternoon reception to follow.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Brian Lichty

Senior VP of Basic Research at Turnstone Biologics,
Associate Professor, Pathology & Molecular Medicine at McMaster

Dr. Brian Lichty is a distinguished scientist with extensive expertise in oncolytic viruses and related immunotherapies. He is a professor in the Department of Pathology & Molecular Medicine and the McMaster Immunology Research Centre (MIRC) at McMaster University. Dr. Lichty is also the Vice President of Basic Research at Turnstone Biologics - a clinical-stage, immuno-oncology company focused on the development of next-generation oncolytic viral immunotherapies for patients with a broad range of solid tumors. They have a robust pipeline of early-stage investigational therapies based on an engineered Maraba virus. Turnstone Biologics has recently entered into a collaboration with AbbVie, a global pharmaceutical company, which will allow Turnstone to grow in scale and represents an exchange of world-class drug development expertise. Since 2015, they have raised over $65 million in financing and were recently recognized as a Fierce 15 company, acknowledging their accomplishments as a top up-and-coming biotechnology company.
