Mediation in Separation

Our program offers free workshops, webinars, and information sessions to help people in Alberta understand the law, the legal system, and the resources available to them. Our program aims to support Albertans in their ability to confidently navigate legal systems that may affect their lives. All this is made possible by grant funding from the Alberta Law Foundation.

An experienced family mediator will share legal information and how to address issues during separation.

Family, Children, and Parenting

Sessions that share clear information about family law, parenting, youth rights, and supporting children through family or legal changes.

Sometimes people need a little help to figure things out as they separate. A mediator can help sort out the issues that people need to address and help them find solutions. <a href="https://www.monicathemediator.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Monica Kreiner, M. Ed., an experienced family mediator</a> will share legal information and provide answers for your questions about how to address issues during separation.<ul><li>What is mediation? How does it work? What is the outcome? </li><li>What are other options to deal with separation/parenting issues?</li><li>How is mediation different than using lawyers for divorce and separation</li><li>Knowing your legal rights and responsibilities</li><li>Options for legal advice for low-income individuals</li><li>How do I arrange for mediation? </li><li>What are the issues a mediator can help with?</li><li>Mediation reports and what to do with them</li><li>What other resources are available to me as I go through separation/divorce-	Family Court and resources to attend as a self-represented client</li></ul>This session will be held online .
