Are the turtles alive?

Yes! All of our reptiles are real animals, and they live with us because they have been deemed unreleasable due to injuries or other complications. We keep them under very specific permits.

Do you have snakes?

Yes, we have two juvenile black rat snakes who live at our office. You will be introduced to them on your tour. If you are uncomfortable with snakes, please let your tour guide know, and they can provide more information or adjust the tour to fit your comfort level.

Question 3

Can we touch the turtles?

Accepted Answer

On your tour, we aim to show you how to safely handle various species, especially snappers. However, our teaching turtles are living animals with boundaries on how much they like to be touched. We will introduce you to all the reptiles, but you will not be able to touch all of them.

Question 4

Can we see the turtle babies?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, no. Our permits to incubate turtle eggs are very specific and include strict rules regarding noise, temperature, and who is allowed access to the hatchlings. While we cannot show you, your guide can answer any questions about our incubation program!
